Plastic Identification Tool

Plastic prototypes often do not include plastic identification numbers, which results in the object not being recycled, even if the material is traditionally accepted at recycling facilities.

The CP3 stamping tool was designed by Felix Beaudry and Sara Ordonselli and was inspired by Precious Plastic. It was also manufacturing by Thomas Savage. The CP3 tool includes a handle and rod screw with allows the user to add and remove any identification coin.

The plastic identification coin above was made using a CNC machine to outline the recycling symbol and number. In other to stamp any plastic prototype the user needs to heat the coin using a heat gun and it will leave a mark, which shows the type of plastic.
