Meet our founders

In September 2019, Wanda Stamford, a business student, and Sara Ordonselli, an engineering student, were introduced by a mutual friend at Concordia University. They quickly discovered their shared passion for plastic recycling and their desire to create a better world. Motivated to find a solution for Concordia's plastic waste management, they came across the Precious Plastic community.

With hard work and dedication, they implemented a solution to support Concordia's plastic waste streams, which included a 3D printing lab, a resistance kitchen, community donations, and more. In their first year, they were awarded the Concordia Council of Student Life Special Projects award for $20,000, which helped them secure a space on campus for students to recycle plastic together.

Their efforts have successfully engaged students in their mission to reduce plastic waste on campus, and they have continued to divert a significant amount of plastic waste from landfill. They are making a positive impact on the environment and inspiring others to do the same.
